Victoria Ashworth graduated with an Honours Degree in Fine Art from Leeds in 2007. She has work on show in the Colin Jellicoe Gallery in Manchester, at Holme Valley Warehouse in Honley and also the Witzend Gallery in Stalybridge. Over the past few months Victoria has been involved in a variety of projects, curating a group exhibition, producing commissions and leading art classes. The focus of Victoria's work began within her local area but as her interest grew she began to consider issues on a global scale and the paintings echoed this. She is now looking to push her practice further working on a new series of paintings continuing using oil paint as the main medium. Based in Mossley, on the outskirts of Manchester, Victoria is a member of Woodend Mill Artists Group. In the coming months Victoria is looking forward to a variety of events which she is involved in, including group exhibitions, art classes and the 'Rags to Riches' Summer Open Studios Event. Recent press releases include an article in the Tameside Advertiser and the Tameside Reporter. 'Talented Tamesiders have taken over an historic Mossley mill to showcase the cream of creative talent.' (quoted from Tameside Reporter) 'Victoria Ashworth, 22, a landscape painter, joined the Manchester Road collective last year after finishing her fine arts degree.'
